Parkash Singh Badal was born on December 8, 1927, in the village of Abul Khurana in Punjab, Badal was the son of a landlord who owned vast tracts of land. He received his early education at a local school and later graduated from Forman Christian College in Lahore.
His political career began in 1947 when he joined the Akali Dal, a political party that advocated for the rights of the Sikh community. In 1957, he was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly and became the youngest member of the assembly at the age of 29.
Parkash served as the chief minister of Punjab for the first time from 1970 to 1971. He was re-elected to the position in 1977 and held the post until 1980. He was again elected as chief minister in 1997 and served until 2002. Badal’s fourth and fifth terms as chief minister were from 2007 to 2012 and 2012 to 2017, respectively.

Throughout his political career, he has been a staunch advocate for the rights of the Sikh community and has worked to promote peace and harmony in the state of Punjab. Parkash Singh Badal has received several awards and honors for his contributions to Indian politics and society. In 1999, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award in India. He has also been honored with the Shiromani Sikh Award, the Golden Temple Award, and the Punjab Ratan Award.

Sukhbir Singh Badal
Sukhbir Singh Badal is the elder son of Parkash Singh Badal and was born on 9 July 1962 in Faridkot, Punjab. He is a well-known Indian politician and businessman who served as the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab from 2009 to 2017. Sukhbir Singh Badal holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Punjab University and a master’s degree in business administration from California State University.
Sukhbir Singh Badal started his political career in 1998 when he was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly from the constituency of Faridkot. He has since been elected to the assembly four times and has also served as the president of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), a prominent political party in Punjab.
Apart from his political career, he is also a successful businessman. He is the founder and chairman of Sukhbir Agro Energy Ltd, a company that specializes in renewable energy sources such as biofuels and solar power.

Parneet Kaur
Parneet Kaur is the younger daughter of Parkash Singh Badal and was born on 28 October 1964 in Delhi. She is a doctor by profession and has served as a member of the Indian Parliament from the Patiala constituency in Punjab.
He completed her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi and went on to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. She has also served as the president of the Indian Medical Association and is actively involved in social work.
Parneet Kaur’s political career began in 1998 when she was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly from the constituency of Ghanaur. She has also served as a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament.
